The new inclusion of AS Roma’s Marco Boriello into the team of Juventus has not caused any worry for the midfielder Alessandro Matri. Many people were thinking that the addition of Boriello to the team will cause problem to Matri, but said that it is not going to be a problem him.
Boriello, who was deemed surplus for Roma’s requirements, is now brought into the team of the Turin giants as the first winter move of this season. Though Matri sticks to his claim that he is not feeling threatened, however, there was a hint in his words that the manager of Juventus will have tough time in the selection procedure from now onwards.
According to an interview with the La Gazzetta dello Sport, Matri quoted that there is no reason for him to be worried with the arrival of Borriello in the team. He further clarified that Borriello is a striker and it will add up to the advantages of the team. Juventus will be more equipped from now onwards and it will be like a combined strike force. On being questioned about having too many strikers will affect the performance of the team or not, he said that he do not think that there are too many in the team. He added that the team includes same number of strikers like the other teams. So, the number of five, six or seven strikers is not an issue.
It is up to the coach to decide on which players he wants to be in the playing eleven. He said that he and the other players and there and available for the selection. Of course, all want to play, but it is up to the coach whom he wants in the team.
The club is hoping to take advantage of their present top position at the standings of Serie A in 2012. The coach of Juventus is also positive about the team. He said that last year was important on both personal and professional level. Though it is quite early to comment on being in a horse race. He said that “we would have definitely achieved something excellent if we were running the course neck and neck with Rossoneri. However, what we have done is good and we are proud of that.” He also added that he shares good rapport with Andrea Agnelli and enjoys a frank relationship. However, until May, winner will not be known.
